Calligraphy (Inked, Engraved, or Hot Foiled)
Yes to all of the above and more! Feel free to send in an inquiry form and we'll see what's possible. More often than not, it is possible.
Mostly yes, but with some disclaimers.
I hand-engrave/etch using a small hand-held engraving machine (essentially a drill). I can easily engrave on wine and liquor bottles (nothing bubbly please!), fragrances, compact mirrors, watches, etc. Essentially anything that is glass or metal, or even acrylic.
Note: I can also do jewelry as long as (1) you are okay with the imperfect hand-made look, and (2) the surface area is large enough (i.e. rings are very difficult, so I often turn these down).
If you are looking for laser engraving or traditional hand-carved calligraphy engraving, I may not be your person.
Hot foil is the perfect way to personalize leather or fabric goods. Wallets, luggage tags, ribbons, and some paper items are the perfect surface for this. It's quite similar to leather embossing, but using a different tool, and giving you a beautiful gold or silver foil finish.
Oftentimes, clients provide the stationery or items to engrave. This is to ensure that you have done your quality checks on the products you need, especially since we can all be very particular about our stationery (trust me, I know ðŸ¤).
Once you have your items, we can coordinate getting them shipped to me, or dropped off in-person if you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area.
However, if you need help sourcing your items or stationery, feel free to let me know as well when you send in an inquiry form. Happy to assist where I can!
Yes! Doing calligraphy at events is one of my absolute favorite things to do. 🩵 Whether it be a wedding, promotional event, brand activation, you name it!

Illustrations
At your event, I will be creating guest illustrations, which are stylized drawings created in the likeness of your guests. Not caricatures, but not photorealistic drawings either; generally, each guest will recognize themselves in the drawings.
Fashion-style illustrations are stylized artwork that mostly feature people's clothing and attire at your event. For these types of illustrations, the artist would be creating drawings of your guests' attire on sketched models with elongated proportions.
Both styles have a uniqueness of their own that everyone can enjoy, and the choice of which style you pick depends on what vibe you'd like for your event.
Nope!
I will have a signup sheet at my table, and once guests sign up, I'll snap a photo of them that I will be working from, after which they are free to go mingle, eat, dance, etc. while I do my magic. They can then come back at the end of the night for their completed illustration.
Each guest illustration takes about 6-12 minutes depending on several factors, including the complexity of a guest's outfit, and whether they are posing individually or as a couple. So, in an hour, I can create anywhere from 5-10 illustrations.
While I charge an hourly rate, the output is not only defined by how many hours I spend at your event.
I will open a minimum of 8 illustrations for each hour you have me booked. However, I can't guarantee an output of 8 illustrations per hour, so anything I don't finish on-site will be completed at home and mailed directly to your guests within a week after your event (at no additional cost.)
In other words, for instance, if you book me for 4 hours, I will open signups for 32 illustrations, but I might only be able to complete 15-20 on-site, and the rest will be completed afterwards and then mailed to each guest.
When guests sign up to have illustrations done, I also ask for their name and mailing address in case they either forget to pick up their illustrations at the end of the event or I don't finish them on-site.
That is entirely up to you, your guest count, and whether you think your guests will all care for an illustration.
For a smaller guest count, you can book the minimum 3 hours.
One thing to keep in mind is that most people pose for their portrait as a couple, and some people might not want to participate at all, so if you have an expected guest count of 150, you likely won't need to anticipate accommodating 150 individual illustrations.
Due to time constraints and the face that I work alone, I will only do individual and couple illustrations.
If a couple has one small child, I will make an exception. Otherwise, I want to ensure as many illustrations as possible are done in an hour, so I will not be doing groups of 3 or more.
Similarly, to ensure as many people as possible can get an illustration made, I would request that no one individual has more than one illustration made (i.e. if someone requests a portrait with their significant other, they cannot come back for a portrait with their bestie.)
No worries at all! When booking for a wedding, the married couple's portrait is complimentary and will not be included in the hourly portrait count!
In fact, I provide many options for the couple portrait, including pre-making your illustration before the event, or creating your illustration before hourly guest illustrations start during your event. If neither one is an option for any reason, I can also create your illustration after your event and mail it to you at no additional cost.
Of course! If you aren't able to accommodate me at your wedding, there are two options for guest illustrations:
- We can pre-make your guest portraits if you'd like to use them alongside or in place of place cards for your reception; or
- You can send me photos of your guests after your wedding day and I can illustrate and send them to you for you to include with your thank you cards.
